Track Bias Information:
Hawkesbury is one of the longest established tracks in the country. Cut out of 200 acres of wild bush, the first meeting was held in 1871 and has continued to provide racing facilities for over 140 years.
The track is a good size with a circumference of around 2000m, however the final straight is just 282m from the last corner to the winning post. There is a chute leading into the course proper before the home turn for the 1000m & 900m starts. In these races there is an advantage to the on leaders and drawing an inside gate is preferred.
Another chute accommodating the other starts from 2000m-1200m leads into the back straight offering a straight run to the first turn of about 1000m. On pace runners will still have an advantage although there is more time to gain a good position heading into the home straight.
