Feature Races, Barriers Info & Starting Positions:
Known as Elwick Racecourse, the feature races at Hobart are the Group 3 Hobart Cup and the Listed Tasmanian Derby.
With a circumference of around 2000m, there is a long back straight at this course which produces a slight uphill run before runnings begin their turn into the final bend. With the 1400m, 1600m and 2400m starts all positioned in their own chutes with a decent straight run before they hit a turn it is a reasonably fair track for all, slight advantage to being drawn in at the 1400m start.
