Feature Races, Barriers Info & Starting Positions:
The Launceston Turf Club has been racing at Mowbray Tasman Park since 1830. Feature race of the year is the Launceston Cup which is run in February.
It is a Lozenge shaped track with a circumference of 1830m consisting of four fairly short straights and four turns, tends to favour horses drawn in capable of leading over all distances particularly for the 1100m and 1200m starts. The final straight is only 230m long leaving little time for backmarkers to swoop.
